diazapam Drug Uses
Diazapam is used to relieve nervousness and tension or improve sleep disturbances. Diazapam also used as an anticonvulsant or skeletal muscle relaxant.

Indications
Neuroses, neurasthenia, hysteria, reactive depression, insomnia associated with the violation phase suspend, spastic paralysis syndrome withdrawal symptoms in patients with alcoholism, epileptic status, epilepsy.

Contraindications
Increased sensitivity, acute liver disease and kidney in violation of their functions, breast-feeding.

How taken
Take diazapam with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Take diazapam exactly as prescribed. Do not increase your dose or take more often than prescribed. Tolerance may develop to this medication making it less effective with prolonged use. For insomnia, take 30 to 60 minutes prior to bedtime.

Dosage
When you receive the drug inside are encouraged to nominate adults, beginning with doses 0,0025-0005 g (2,5-5 mg) 1-2 times a day and then gradually increase it. Typically, single dose for adults is 0005-0,01 g (5-10 mg). In some cases (with a higher initiation, fear, anxiety)-time dose can be increased to 0.02 g (20 mg). When treated in hospital and with careful medical observation daily dose can be as high as 0045 g (45 mg). When outpatient treatment is not advisable to appoint more than 0025 g (25 mg) per day. The maximum daily dose of 0.06 g (60 mg). The allowance curative dose give 2-3 in the reception.

Side effects
Addictive, paradoxical reaction (the development of anxiety, hallucinations, convulsions, insomnia), lowering speed reactions and concentration, drowsiness, short-term memory deterioration, headache, dizziness, hypotonia, with prolonged use of liver and kidney failure, atoniya bowel, declining libido and potency.

Diazapam Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: cimetidine, digoxin, disulfiram, seizure medication, sleeping pills, narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine), medication for depression, barbiturates, tranquilizers, sedatives, certain drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), drugs used to treat allergies or colds, alcohol use. Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Smoking can decrease the effectiveness of this drug. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
